Day: August 4, 2010

38 Days and Counting.

In Just 38 day’s I will get my socks rocked again along side the coolest people in the world; John Mayer fans, by the Bruce Springsteen of our time as Pat from train referred to him today via twitter. To this I say thank you for bringing music right into my heart on such a day.  The heart of America is healing and knowing that John Mayer will be performing on a day such as this makes me the happiest girl in the world.

I know people out there don’t understand the big deal behind him, but you would have to see his work to understand.  It’s not just the music it’s the passion he has for what he does.  He’s not just a big mouth; he’s a walking open heart.

Mayer has done many things to bring light to the military families, performing for the troops and my very small moment of jealousy—yes-when he appeared in the Sesame Streets’ episode for to the military families called Coping with change where he got to hug Elmo.  He has also done concerts to benefit the Veterans Charities: Military Outreach Ministry  (MOM) and NICRE—the veterans Health Research Institute.

His  fans have also join in the movement by making JM Mwristbands with the lyrics “Simple little kind of free” on them and selling them during the Battles Studies summer tour which kicked off in Charlotte, NC.  For those of you who don’t know, I was placed into the drawing to win tickets for this show, but didn’t— read here.  But that’s neither here nor there, its water under the bridge or over the bridge I always forget how that goes.  But the proceeds will go towards the charity that John has welcomed so close to his heart.  I am honored to share a piece of the lawn with these girls, and I can’t wait to get my hands on these wristbands along with the sillybandz that are going around tour right now.

9/11 has been a time for remembering for all of us, and so on this day I will stand not only has a proud Latina Americana but as a fan of music holding my heart in one hand and love in the other and I can’t wait to be a part of it all.  I have been an ocean of emotion just thinking about it, and hearing how amazing the tour has been puts me on my toes with excitement.  I will continue to project these feelings for many (prepare yourselves) more months to come because he is simply that amazing live and the best part of it is that I do believe, I do believe that the heart of life is good.

Who’s going to West Palm Beach to See John Mayer?
